Synchronicity

Serendipity💫 Divine Timing✨ Synchronicity⚡ Whatever you call it - that’s what is in play today. Okay, so for some reason I’ve not dedicated time to sit with my next blog post.  I was kind of scolding myself for procrastinating, avoiding, whatever.  You know - going completely against my radical self-acceptance theme. 😆But now I know why!  April is the Divine timing for this particular post about pruning. Stick with me through the end to see how events unfolded as though they were scripted.

However, it’s been a while, so we need a little refresher.

It all started back in February when I introduced the theme of ‘Radical Self-Acceptance’ at the studio. And as you know…I can’t help but have a metaphor to illustrate the point.  So it’s probably coming back to you now - I compared all of us to rosebushes.  Perfect just as we are now, and perfect tomorrow when something has changed.  Also perfect when we desire growth and/or improvement in some way.  Sounds contradictory, I know. If you haven’t already, please go back and read the previous blogs for better clarification. But to cut to the chase here, I outlined four tenets on how we can simultaneously grow and expand all while being content in our present perfection - all within the metaphor of a rosebush.

As a review, here they all are.  We’ve covered the first three, so today’s post is all about number four.

1. It never has an expectation to be anything other than a rosebush.

2. It doesn’t force its health and vibrancy into being.  It takes what is offered to it in effortless stride and allows its beauty to naturally evolve.

3. When it’s not tended to, it doesn’t shame itself for becoming overgrown, thorny, and lackluster. It’s confident in knowing that it retains full capacity to return to a balanced, dynamic thing of beauty when it’s properly cared for.

4. It’s not attached to what no longer serves. As a leaf browns, or a bloom withers, it either naturally releases, or it welcomes the pruning - understanding that it is best served when it can let go. Even if it’s letting go of something that appears healthy.

Attachment. Pruning. Letting go. Releasing. These themes are perfect for the energetic forces of this April.

Now, I’m not an astrologist. But I am aware enough to notice that strange things happen during a full moon, Mercury in retrograde actually does wreak havoc at times, and different planetary alignments really do carry unique energies. I mean, why not? Everything is energy, including us, especially us. How can we not be affected by the mighty forces in the universe?

So I’ve been hearing that April of this year is kind of special; worthy of looking into.  So I did.  And here are a few things I found:

April 2026 is notable for having no retrogrades, which is quite rare. This means all planets are moving direct, creating a favorable environment for progress and decision-making.

Plus, the Full Moon in Libra is actually on the first day of the month. (No April Foolin’!) It’s known as the Pink Moon - full of forward movement energy. This fiery momentum is prompting us into some ‘final’ releases. Finally letting go of negative thought patterns, finally releasing ego driven compulsions, finally clearing out physical or mental clutter.

Then we get a boost of energy and passion as Mars enters Aries on April 9th, and a focus on communication and assertiveness on April 14th when Mercury enters Aries.

The New Moon in Aries on April 17th is ideal for setting intentions and new beginnings!

You might be seeing a pattern - Aries and forward movement. It’s fiery and characterized by boldness and action.  It really supports taking initiative and pursuing your goals - not with a ‘have-to’ energy, but a confident energy. This is an excellent time for personal growth and new ventures.

And since we’re past the ‘new budding’ stage of our lives, to kickstart that growth - it almost always starts with a pruning, or a burning off, or a natural fading away.

So here’s the first synchronicity - I literally pruned my rosebush today. Not because I knew I was going to sit down to this blog.  Not because I was hearing about this April.  I just walked by it several times today as I was tending to chickens and my daughter’s dogs.  Even in the harsh Kansas wind, I was compelled to make today the day to finally get it done. (A friend texted me over a week ago reminding me that it was time.)

Synchronicity number two: It was after the pruning that I sat down to my computer and saw my mentor’s email about what to expect this April.  The email was actually sent a week prior, but it felt right to open it today. Her excitement about the month led to me do the research I shared above.

I still wasn’t making the connection when I decided next on my list would be to finish the last blog post in this series. I knew I hadn’t yet addressed number four, and in all honesty, I couldn’t remember what number four was!  Yes, I wrote the darn things, but my foggy brain needed a reminder. As soon as I found it, I literally let out a little chuckle at synchronicity number three.

Yes, I see. Pruning the bush, reading the email, finishing the blog series…In my mind I was interpreting them all as procrastination. Yet the procrastination was actually an orchestration. It all came together as a perfect illustration of this very metaphor and my four tenets.

I didn’t force myself. I let the beauty of the situation reveal itself in its own time. I realize that I (and my rosebush😉) still hold full capacity for vitality as this blog just flows. And I’m not just willing, but ready to finally let go of the self-shaming and scolding.  I trust. I'm grateful.

And I’m ready for fiery forward movement. Bring it on, April 2026!

If you’re feeling this momentum as well, please reach out! Of course all of my regular services (yoga, coaching, reiki) are wonderful places to explore all of this. But I’m adding new offerings. Follow me on FB and Instagram to find out all about them.

These are exciting times. I’d love for you to comment on what your final releases or new beginnings will be. Let’s embrace this excitement together!

PS - that picture is my extremely pruned rose bush. Thank you, Corey, for the reminder on timing and how not to be afraid to cut off too much! 😉
